One dead in Wood County accident

WOOD COUNTY – One woman is dead following a Wood County accident.
On Dec. 31, shortly before 12:30 p.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a two-vehicle accident involving a plow truck.
“After arriving on scene, deputies determined a vehicle had been eastbound on CTH H and a plow truck had been northbound on CTH M,” a release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department stated.
“The plow truck failed to stop for the stop sign and struck the westbound vehicle. One of the two occupants of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene and the other was transported to Marshfield Medical Center.
“Wisconsin State Patrol arrived on scene and is conducting the investigation, which is still ongoing at this time.”
