Police Calls: February 5, 2025

On Jan. 23 at 7:17 in the morning a Pittsville caller reported a school crossing sign and no parking sign had been run over, the caller noted it appeard as though a driver had swerved in the snow which caused the vehicle to strike the signs.
On Jan. 23 at 1:32 in the afternoon Wood County Sheriff’s Department reported to a call regarding cows in the roadway blocking traffic.
On Jan. 23 at 5:45 in the evening a caller from Sherry reported a residence that was believed to be keeping an alligator inside. The caller states they saw this on Facebook and saw the alligator was being kept in a bathtub and being restricted from movement and proper nutrition.
On Jan. 24 at 1:42 in the afternoon a Saratoga caller described their neighbor had been cutting down trees on the callers property without permission and took the trees to their own property once cut.
On Jan. 25 around 2:00 in the afternoon two callers called to report the same event in Marshfield. The first caller reported a man had tried was trying to sell her steaks which she was not interested in. The first caller reported that the man trying to sell steaks than got upset and left, laying on his car’s horn, which woke up the first caller’s children. The second caller called ten minutes later, describing trying to sell things but the potential buyer started cursing at him, which he describes led him to laying on his car’s horn.

On Jan. 26 at 8:36 in the morning a caller in Saratoga requested a welfare check to a local store. The caller described a note was taped to the front door saying the employee was in the bathroom and would be back shortly, but that the note had been hung and doors had been locked for 45 minutes despite all the lights being on inside. The caller also noted there was a gas pump laying on the ground of the business.
On Jan. 27 at 8:30 in the morning a caller from Vesper described possible identity theft through online gaming websites. The caller was concerned about the possibility of swatting.
On Jan. 27 at 1:22 in the afternoon a Grand Rapids caller reported having a screenshot of a Facebook post from an individual who had created a list of people they believed should be in jail.
On Jan. 27 at 2:20 in the afternoon a caller from Saratoga reported a possible vehicle break in due to finding pliers near their car. The caller also stated concern that their house could be wired and their phone could be bugged.
On Jan. 29 at 6:55 in the evening a Grand Rapids caller reported two residents in a complex had attacked each other, but no weapons were involved. One of the residents involved in the altercation was noted to be crying.
On Jan. 29 at 8:50 in the evening a caller in Saratoga described getting a notification from their Ring Camera that someone was in their yard, then the caller’s house light turned on. The caller noted no cars were on the property.
