WISCONSIN RAPIDS – After wrapping up successful high school careers, University of Virginia freshmen Jack Dragum and Bryce Greenly will be joining the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for the summer.

Originally from Mechanicsville, VA, Dragum was a state champion and two-time All-Metro selection at Hanover High School. During Dragum’s junior year, his .365 batting average and .543 on-base percentage earned him the 4A East Co-Region Player of the Year award. In his senior season, he posted a 1.06 ERA and a 6-2 record. In addition, Dragum collected 54 strikeouts over 39.1 innings and hit .378 that season. Dragum capped off his high school career with All-Region and Second-Team All-State honors.

During the fall 2018 season, Dragum impressed in the Cavaliers’ fall Orange and Blue World Series. Although he didn’t see the mound, Dragum went 2-for-3 and drove in the first run of the series in game one. In game five, he led Team Orange with three hits and an RBI. The 6-1 right-hander started four of the Cavaliers eight games this season at second base

“I’m excited to get out there and compete and play every day alongside some of the best players in the country,” Dragum said.

Bryce Greenly, a Delaware native, was named the No. 2 outfielder in the state by Perfect Game after playing his prep baseball at Milford High School. During his high school career, Greenly was named All-Conference three times and was selected to the All-State Second Team twice. Greenly was also named Conference Player of the Year as a senior. In Virginia’s Orange and Blue World Series, the 6-2 righty notched a hit in each appearance.

“The opportunity to play at a high level against good talent and the opportunity to develop as a player has me very excited to come out and compete,” Greenly said.
