Thief on the run

At 8:45 p.m., a department store employee in Wisconsin Rapids called to report a theft. The employee had approached a man after witnessing him switching prices. The 45-year-old man then ran out of the store with the unpaid merchandise. The man was identified and found.

November 2

Neighbor warned for harassment

At 6:38 p.m., a 67-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman reported that her neighbor, a 37-year-old woman, had been harassing her and threatened her regarding money that the younger woman claims she is owed. Police spoke with the women and the younger woman was informed not to contact her neighbor anymore.

Man attempts to break in

At 2:36 a.m., a 47-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called police after a man had tried entering her home from the front door and then her patio door. He began pounding on the windows so hard the woman thought they were going to break. Police arrived and found the man in the backyard of her residence. A cab was called for the man and he was sent on his way.

November 4

Vehicle damaged

At 7:41 p.m., a 34-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported that within the last hour someone had smashed the windshield and slashed all four tires on his vehicle. The man did not know who would have done this.

November 5

I forgot!

At 1:24 a.m., a 24-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported that a white van had driven around the block and then parked outside facing his house with the lights off. Police arrived and the man in the van stated he was waiting on a friend; however, he didn’t know the name of the friend he was waiting for.

More gas siphoning

At 11:16 a.m., an employee of a Wisconsin Rapids hotel spoke with officers about getting extra patrol at night. The hotel has had several complaints over the past two weeks regarding an individual coming overnight and siphoning gas from vehicles.
