WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The race is set for two seats up for grabs on the Wisconsin Rapids Board of Education.

Following the Feb. 21 Primary Election, four of five candidates have advanced to the spring election April 4.

Unofficial results show the top vote-getter was Kathi Stebbins-Hintz, with 2,617. Incumbent John Krings finished in second place with 2,558 votes. Also claiming a spot on the April ballot was Mike Derrie, who finished in third place with 2,182 votes. Grabbing the fourth and final spot in April was Christopher D. Inda, who received 1,917 ballots. Eliminated from the race was Jen Farmbrough, who got 1,270 votes.

There will be at least one new face on the Wisconsin Rapids Board of Education, since incumbent Sandra K. Hett decided not to seek reelection.

Once the election concludes, the results are certified by a Board of Canvassers and the School District Clerk promptly issues a certificate of election to each person elected to office. Newly-elected school board members take and file the Oath of Office on or prior to the fourth Monday in April, and are officially seated on the fourth Monday in April at the board’s organizational meeting.
