A traffic stop in Nekoosa led to the arrest of an alleged Wisconsin Rapids dealer who will face multiple drug charges.
According to police reports, on Dec. 6 a traffic stop was initiated in the area of Edgewood Ln. and County Highway Z in Nekoosa. A stop lamp on the vehicle was observed to have been completely covered in snow, which led to the stop.
Police identified the driver as 39-year-old Vincent Breezee, and also identified the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Breezee allegedly admitted to police that he did smoke marijuana before the stop.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a total of 30.3 grams of marijuana, as well as a glass pipe that tested positive for the presence of cocaine. Police found $650 dollars folded inside a Ziploc baggie inside the car door, as well as an additional $140 dollars on Breezee.
A further search turned up 19 Ziploc baggies in the defendant's pocket, 69 Ziploc baggies inside the vehicle, a orange glass smoking device that tested positive for methamphetamine, and $1,200 dollars in cash rolled and held together with a hair tie.
If convicted, Breezee faces up to 7 years imprisonment and up to $20,000 in fines. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6.
