Saratoga Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

A shooting in the Town of Saratoga Monday night left one person dead and another hospitalized with injuries.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of two people being shot in a home on Church Ave. in Saratoga, just south of Wisconsin Rapids, at about 10:00 PM Monday night. Upon arrival, a female victim was found dead and a male was hospitalized with injuries.

The two involved knew each other according to the Sheriff's Department and there is no threat to the community.

The incident is being treated as a homicide.

Law enforcement said they are gathering evidence and awaiting autopsy results. No other information is expected to be released today but an update should be available before noon tomorrow.
