Street Reconstruction to Start on May 18

According to a press release from the city of Wisconsin Rapids, 1st St. North, from Spring Street to Poplar St., will be closed to through traffic due to street reconstruction, beginning Wednesday, May 18, 2016 and will likely remain closed until late July.

A detour will be set up for truck traffic while construction is taking place at the intersection of 1st St. and Spring St. (approximately 2-3 weeks). Detour route for 1st St. truck traffic will utilize State Highway 54, Riverview Expressway, W. Grand Ave., and W. Jackson St.

A detour will also be set up for all other local traffic throughout the project utilizing Pleasantview Drive, 5th St. North, and Spring Street.
