WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- An alleged local heroin dealer has been charged by police after the use of an undercover officer.

According to a police report filed on April 27, earlier in the year a meeting was arranged for the undercover purchase of narcotics from 39-year-old Corinna Savage, of Wisconsin Rapids. At approximately 7:09 p.m., a meeting was set to take place at a gas station on the corner of Gaynor Ave. and 17th St. South.

At this time, Savage got into the vehicle with the undercover officer and exchanged a small tinfoil wrapped item believed to be heroin in exchange for $200. Soon after, Savage was identified as the seller, and later charged.

If convicted, Savage faces up to 12 years and six months imprisonment and up to $25,000 in fines. While her initial appearance in court for this charge has been scheduled for May 18, she is slated to be in court on May 2 to face a jury on charges of narcotics possession and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Savage was out on a $2,000 bail at the time of the incident.
