Sustainable Business Council celebrates 16th Annual Green Masters Program achievements

Nekoosa business recognized as top performer

Posted

NEKOOSA – For nearly two decades, the Green Masters Program has served as a trusted framework that enables companies of all sizes and sectors to assess, improve and communicate their performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact areas. Nearly 400 businesses have used the program to build and advance sustainability practices throughout their value chains.
A business-level sustainability certification, the Green Masters Program enables companies of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance in ESG impact areas that are meaningful to them and their stakeholders. Participants in the Green Masters Program are recognized based on their dedication and progress in embedding sustainability within their operations, categorizing participants into four status levels – Adapting, Advancing, Maturing and Green Master – reflecting the degree to which sustainability has been integrated into their business model. Additionally, Top Performer recognition highlights companies that not only meet the Green Masters Program certification standards but excel in specific areas of sustainability impact, setting the bar for their peers and driving innovation across the business community.
This year, Nekoosa Coated Projects was named a Green Master, in addition to being recognized as a 2025 Top Performer in the program.
“The Green Masters Program is a comprehensive tool that helps businesses define, prioritize, measure, and manage their sustainability performance, integrating sustainable practices into their core operations. Aligned with internationally recognized standards, it drives continuous improvement and sustainable success.” SBC Executive Director Jessy Servi Ortiz said. “For over fifteen years, the program has helped companies build credible and impactful sustainability initiatives, and we are proud to see companies like these paving the way for a more sustainable future in Wisconsin.”
Each year at the Sustainable Business Council’s Annual Conference, the achievements of member companies are recognized and celebrated. This year’s conference was held on Nov. 4-5 at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse.
