Two 18-year-old men have been charged with possessing and intending to sell marijuana after the sell of an illegal substance to a confidential informant.
Brandon Noll, of Spencer, and Trevor Schmidt, of Stratford, are charged with possession of THC, with Noll charged with possession of THC with intent to sell.
According to police reports, on Apr. 8, a confidential informant was to meet with Noll to purchase one-half ounce of marijuana at a local business on the 100 block of North Central Ave. in Marshfield. Noll was reported to have been driving a white chevy truck, which was pulled over by an officer at the same location.
After an outside search of the vehicle, a K-9 indicated positive for the presence of a controlled substance inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle were two passengers, identified as Noll and Schmidt.
Further investigation led to officers finding a white baggie containing a leafy substance on Schmidt, as well as a metal pipe.
The officer searched Noll and in his front hoodie pocket found a clear plastic bag containing a plant-like material. The bag was later weighed at 14.5 grams. Tests would later confirm the presence of THC in the possession of both men.
If convicted, Noll faces up to three years and six months imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. His pre-trial conference is slated for May 13. Schmidt faces up to six months imprisonment and up to $1,000 inn fines. His initial appearance in court is scheduled for May 9.
