Posted

For the City Times

Rome, WI- On Saturday, Jun. 25, D.R.A.F.T. (Discover Rome Area Family Trails) celebrated the ribbon cutting of the first silent sports recreational trail in the town of Rome.

The ceremony was part of the Weekend in Rome Celebration. Bring’s Cycling & Fitness attended the ceremony and brought many demo bicycles for the attendees to test out. Over 70 people attended the ceremony.

The recreational trail is 2.76 miles long and weaves through the Alpine Village Business Park. The gravel trail is well marked and ADA accessible. The group has plans to expand the trail system throughout the town of Rome in the future.

D.R.A.F.T. meets on the secondMonday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Rome Town Hall. The meetings are open to the public and new members are always welcome.

For more information or to be added to the D.R.A.F.T. email list can email Greg Broniec at zoning@romewi.com.
