A Wisconsin Rapids man and woman face class F felony charges after admitting to police they had and intended to deliver heroin.
Gregory Lozano, 49, and Miranda Lundenburg, 25, of Wisconsin Rapids, both face up to 12 years and six months imprisonment, a $25,000 fine or both. Lozano also faces charges of felony bail jumping with a maximum sentence of six years imprisonment, a $10,000 fine or both.
According to court documents, on July 26, a Wisconsin Rapids police officer stopped a vehicle containing the Lozano and Lundenburg on the 2800 block of 10th St. S. They were stopped because the officer recognized them as being involved in selling heroin.
Before searching Lozano, the officer asked him if there was anything dangerous in his pockets and he said "There's drugs in my pockets." Upon searching, the officers found a small, cylindrical container with a baggy inside containing a small, gray rock-like substance he suspected to be heroin. The officer also found a small scale on Lozano that contained traces of heroin.
Lozano told the officer they "got him good" and he was on his way back. He told the officers numerous people would be at his house to purchase they heroin if the police wanted to make more arrests.
Also found during the search was a small, charred crack pipe stuffed with steel wool.
During questioning, Lundenburg told officers that Lozaro made two trips per week to Milwaukee and always came back with heroin to sell in Wisconsin Rapids. She said he had three customers, some of whom showed up daily.
She also told officers she had traveled with Lozano three times on his trips to Milwaukee and she would rip up foil for him as he weighed heroin. She also admitted that she and Lozano had smoked crack while driving that day.
The officers report said that 1.51 grams of heroin was found on Lozano.
Lozano is also charged with bail jumping because he was released on bond from Portage County on May 12 after being charged with possession of cocaine.
Lozano remains in custody at Wood County Jail while Lundenburg was released on a $500 signature bond.
Neither defendant is schedule for court at this time.
