WISCONSIN RAPIDS – United Way of Inner Wisconsin plans to distribute $481,352 in south Wood County and $29,500 in Adams County, for a total of $510,852, pending a successful fall campaign.
This year, United Way of Inner Wisconsin also changed to a two year funding cycle, meaning only programs in the “Education” and “Health” strategy areas needed to apply for funding this past spring. Programs in “Income” and “Safety Net Services” will receive continuation grants in 2018 (in the same amount they received in 2017) and have the opportunity to apply for 2019/2020 funding in 2018. Switching to a two year funding cycle is more efficient for both the partner programs and United Way.
United Way of Inner Wisconsin hopes to raise the necessary funds in its 2017 Campaign, which runs from September 1 to October 31.
“It’s important for us to reach our fundraising goal this year so we can continue to support these valuable community programs” said Tari Jahns, United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s CEO. “The need continues to grow each year and we need to leverage additional resources to fund the programs, coalitions and initiatives of United Way.”
