For the City Times
SOUTH WOOD COUNTY – Dec. 18 marks the 122nd year that The National Audubon Society is conducting its annual Christmas Bird Count.
The count is vital to ornithologists – those who study birds – for assessing the health of the bird populations.
Volunteers are needed. No experience is necessary. A rudimentary knowledge of our local birds is all you need.
“If you have a bird feeder, just keeping an eye on that would provide valuable information to the count,” an event release stated.
To volunteer, contact Willy Fleck at williflek@gmail.com or 715-451-2058.
