Unusual activity leads to arrest
At 4:09 p.m., a 54-year-old Marshfield man reported seeing a man walking around the neighborhood. The 46-year-old man was going through people’s yards and acting abnormal. Upon police arrival, they learned the man had entered a home without the owner’s permission. The man was taken into custody for criminal trespassing and transported to the Wood County jail.
July 12
Running on empty
At 9:48 a.m., an employee at the United States Post Office in Marshfield contacted police to voice concern over the possibility that gas may be getting siphoned from work trucks over weekend hours. There is no video surveillance or suspects at this time.
July 13
Long-distance harassment
At 1:23 p.m., a 31-year old Marshfield man reported that his girlfriend from the Philippines was receiving harassing Facebook messages. The messages were being sent by unknown users. The Marshfield man feels his ex-girlfriend, a 37-year-old Marshfield woman, was the one sending them. The woman was contacted and denied sending any messages. She was also warned not to have contact with the man and his girlfriend.
July 14
Self check-out scam busted
At 11:26 p.m., an employee of a department store called to report that a 25-year-old Mosinee man and a 31-year-old Mosinee woman had left the store after using the self check-out lane and not scanning several items in their cart. The theft was not noticed at the time it occurred. The couple was later taken into custody for retail theft. The woman was transported to Marathon County jail for the charges of retail theft, as well as bail jumping.
July 15
Man breaks bail conditions
At 1:29 p.m., a 47-year-old Marshfield man called police to report that a 29-year-old Marshfield man was at a neighbor’s apartment. The 29-year-old is to have no contact with the woman who resides at the neighboring apartment and was arrested and taken to the Wood County Jail for bail jumping.
July 16
Sibling dispute
At 3:19 p.m., a 27-year-old woman called to report that around 2:30 p.m. her brother, a 26-year-old man, had pushed and struck her. Police made contact with the Marshfield man and after an investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Wood County Jail for disorderly conduct-domestic related.
