WIS 54/73 at Wisconsin River Drive now open

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced the intersection at WIS 54/73 and Wisconsin River Drive is now open to traffic, but motorists will encounter some new traffic patterns.

The intersection was reconfigured as part of a road improvement project constructed this year.

As part of the new configuration, traffic on WIS 54/73 will not stop through the intersection. Motorists travelling southbound on WIS 54/73 and Wisconsin River Drive and looking to go south must first go around the corner and make a left turn on to the southern portion of Wisconsin River Drive yielding to eastbound traffic.

Drivers on northbound Wisconsin River Drive south of the intersection will now be required to stop before continuing northbound on WIS 54/73 and Wisconsin River Drive or when turning left onto WIS 54/73.

New pavement markings and signs have been installed to assist drivers with navigating the new intersection configuration.
