Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau launches grant program

Posted

WOOD COUNTY – The Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, also called VisitWisRapids or WRACVB, is pleased to launch the Wisconsin Rapids Area Tourism Development Grant Program.
This grant program is designed to assist community focused organizations in developing interactive, hands-on experiences, events, attractions or amenities that encourage overnight stays and increase local business activity. Qualifying projects may include upgrades or enhancements to existing facilities, conference or sporting event bidding and proposal fees and development of marketing materials.
Grant awards of up to $2,500 will be available. Projects should be aimed at attracting visitors from outside of southern Wood and northern Adams County.
Grant applications will be accepted through Saturday, Feb. 28. Applications may be submitted online, via email, or in person at the WRACVB Visitors Center and Office, located at the corner of Jackson Street and 2nd Street North in Wisconsin Rapids. Completed applications will be forwarded to the Tourism Grant Committee, composed of members from the arts and sports communities, along with WRACVB Board Directors. Tourism Development Grant guidelines — including eligibility requirements and the application — are available at www.visitwisrapids.com/tourismgrant.
“We’re excited to support the hard-working, often volunteer, organizations that that bring dollars and create unforgettable experiences benefitting both visitors and residents,” said Executive Director of WRACVB Meredith Kleker.
