WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre Silver Foxes senior troupe takes the stage on Aug. 19, with live performances of “Grandmothers, Incorporated” by L. Barnett Evans and C.V. Rhodes.
“This is a lively story of four retired widows who go to a remote cabin for a weekend retreat. When they arrive at the cabin, they find the door is unlocked, and the cabin is in disarray. Upon beginning to straighten the cabin up, they search for brooms, etc., to help with the cleaning. What they discover instead is the notorious drug lord, Chevron Harris, bound and gagged in the closet. The women start to plan what they will do with him. What ensues is pure entertainment! This is a show not to be missed,” said Keith Hetzel, director
“The Silver Foxes is a senior theatre troupe that performs two fully produced productions annually. In addition to their mainstageproductions, they also take smaller performances into the community, mainly at senior living and nursing home facilities, but they have also performed inchurches and forservice organizations. The group was formed in 2009 by a group of older WRCT participantswho were increasingly frustrated with the lack of roles for senior actors. This group meets on a regular basis and the group numbers between seven and 16 at any given time. They are always looking to recruit new members. Practice, but no pressure! No experience necessary and no memorization required,” a Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre release stated.
Performances will be held on Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. in the mainstage theatre at Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre, located in the Centralia Center.
