Wisconsin Rapids Road Construction Update

We all know Wisconsin has two seasons: winter and construction.

Wisconsin Rapids is no exception. City crews are headlong into updating area roadways. The following road construction projects were provided by the Wisconsin Rapids Streets Department. *Dates and details are preliminary and subject to change due to traffic patterns and favorable weather.

Street: 17th Ave.

Location: West Grand Ave. to Green Bay St.

Schedule: April 6, 2015 to June 12, 2015

Cost: $620,424

Description: Crews will be replacing water mains and sewers before repaving and curbing the roadway. This will help with drainage as well as

Traffic Impacts:17th Ave. N, from West Grand Ave. to Green Bay St, will remain closed until approximately June 5, 2015.The road will be open to local traffic only.

Street: Chestnut St.

Location: 8th St. S to 16th St. S.

Schedule: July 20, 2015 to November 30, 2015.

Cost: $1,206,981

Description: Crews will be spot lining the sanitary sewer, replacing the water main and manhole cover and repaving and replacing curb and gutters.

Traffic Impacts: Unknown

Street: Apple St.

Location: 8th St. S to 12th St. S

Schedule: June 8, 2015 to September 18, 2015

Cost: $373,434

Description: Crews will be replacing a water main, repaving and replacing the curb and gutters.

Traffic Impacts: Unknown

Street: 7th Ave. N

Location: Harrison St. to High St.

Schedule: May 4, 2015 to July 10, 2015

Cost: $239,334

Description: Crews will be replacing a water main, sanitary sewer, repaving and replacing curb and gutters.

Traffic Impacts: Road closed to through traffic.Truck route and detour routes from the Riverview Expressway will be at West Grand Avenue and Wilson Street.

Street: West Grand Ave.

Location: 25th Ave. N to Viaduct

Schedule: May 18, 2015 to July 3, 2015

Description: Concrete street patching

Traffic Impacts:Lane closures are expected on west bound and east bound lanes. Construction will begin on outside lanes and will move to inside lanes.
