WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A Milwaukee man faces over three decades of imprisonment after being caught with various amounts of illegal substances.
According to reports, on March 13, a routine traffic stop was initiated in the area of 18th St. North for a malfunctioning brake light. Police would make contact with the driver, who refused to roll down his window, and told officers to “go away”. One of two passengers also told police to “go away”.
The officers did not go away.
The driver was soon identified as Milwaukee resident, 22-year-old Jesus Rios. A K9 was brought out to do a sniff of the vehicle, and Rios soon admitted to carrying illegal substances on him.
The two passengers were also identified — 26-year-old Shawndira Hackney, of Wisconsin Rapids, and 24-year-old Lizette Carmona, of Milwaukee. Carmona currently had a warrant out for her arrest. Both will face misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, and obstructing an officer, respectively.
Rios allegedly admitted he was a drug dealer, and on him police found ounces of marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. A thorough search of the vehicle would turn up nine bags of cocaine totaling 8.2 grams, as well as two jars of marijuana.
Rios was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana, and amphetamines, with the intent to sell. His next day in court is slated for March 29.
