To the Editor:

Kids in the Kitchen will hold its 3rd annual celebration on May 18, 2017 at Mead Elementary Charter School.

I encourage you to consider purchasing a ticket to this unique, fun evening for which every penny spent goes directly to supporting the students and educators at Mead.  This event highlights the collaborative, exceptional spirit of our students and alumni as well as community supporters.  Students brainstormed ideas for the recipes for this year’s theme Pride of Wisconsin.

With the help of community chef mentors, students will prepare the multiple gourmet tapas style courses.  The “Mocktail” hour begins at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.  Guests will be served by a Mead adult and a student/alumni.  The students are gearing up with dance, instrumentals and singing for an entertaining evening.

Kids in the Kitchen is sure to be a success thanks to the many wonderful citizens and businesses in our area.  Special thanks go out to the following sponsors for their generous support:

Ameriprise Financial’s Jason R. Kraemer and Shanon G. Moon, Aspirus Riverview Hospital and Clinics, Bull’s Eye Credit Union, Chips Hamburgers, Fey Printing, Members’ Advantage Credit Union, Renaissance, Safe-Way Bus Transit, Inc., Solarus, Wisconsin Rapids Professional Police Association and WoodTrust Bank.

“Our school provides innovative practices that help us to respond individually to the needs of our students, stay connected to other successful schools across the state to share best practices and professional development, while defining ourselves based on specific goals and ideals of our population and needs,” said a Mead staffer. “I encourage you to support our teachers in this incredible endeavor, by purchasing a seat or a table for this remarkable event.”

I am forever amazed at the generosity and support that we at Mead Elementary Charter School experience.  I am blessed to help this team through service to this school.  Each day I am privileged to see evidence that we live in a community of people that strives to make Wisconsin Rapids a great place to live, work and volunteer.

Limited tickets for Kids in the Kitchen are available for $40 through www.showtix4u.com.  For more information please call Nancy Graf at Mead School, 715-424-6777.
