VESPER – The Vesper Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Aug. 20 at around 11:30 p.m.

Upon arrival at 4535 County Hwy C, Vesper, in the town of Sigel, crews found a 48′ x 96′ shed fully engulfed in fire. The building contained many pieces of equipment and a large fuel tank. Officials say that heavy fire, with multiple explosions, made the fire difficult to extinguish but no other structures or property were affected.

Firefighters from Vesper, Rudolph, Arpin, Pittsville, Richfield, along with United Ambulance, were on scene for about three hours.

The building was a total loss, along with the owner’s tractors, trailers, generators, wagons, and other farm equipment.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no injuries reported.
