For the Rapids City Times

ADAMS COUNTY – The Adams County Sheriff’s office says that the county is part of an area that has the potential for flash flooding this evening – Sept. 12-13.

Thunderstorms will move northward through the area this morning with another round of storms expected this afternoon into tonight. With recent heavy rainfall and most soils, these storms will be capable of very heavy rainfall with rapid runoff and the potential for some flash flooding.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a flash flood watch for portions of central Wisconsin, north central Wisconsin, and west central Wisconsin, including the following areas: Adams, Clark, Jackson, Juneau, Monroe, and Taylor through Friday morning.

Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms has the potential for rainfall rates of one to two inches per hour.
