Local law enforcement to hold active shooter drill

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Local law enforcement will hold an active shooter practice drill Oct. 16 at Alliant Energy in Wisconsin Rapids.

Law enforcement officers from several local agencies, along with paramedics, will practice their response for an active shooter incident. It will begin around 8 a.m. and continue throughout the afternoon, until as late at 4 p.m.

The drill will take place at Alliant Energy, 2710 Jefferson Street, in the Wisconsin Rapids west-side Industrial Park. There will be many police, fire, and EMS emergency vehicles in the area.

The following agencies are participating in the drill: Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, Grand Rapids Police Department, Port Edwards Police Department, Wood County Dispatch, and Alliant Energy.
