WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wood County Health Department says that 267 people were tested for COVID-19 May8-9 in Wisconsin Rapids.
The department teamed up with the Wisconsin National Guard in offering a two-day drive-through event, where people could get a quick nasal swab.
“Sarah” from Wisconsin Rapids was among those going, presenting with two coronavirus-related symptoms. While she understands the Safer At Home order, she was experiencing a little cabin fever, too.
As a result of the testing, one new positive case was identified in Wood County, while three positive tests were confirmed in neighboring counties.
Meanwhile, a local health care provider has identified another Wood County case. A total of 985 Wood County residents have now been tested, resulting in a total of four positive tests. One of those individuals is currently symptomatic and isolated at home. Another is asymptomatic and is also isolating at home, while contact tracing from both of those individuals is also underway.
