Wood County crash injures two

WOOD COUNTY – Two Wood County residents were sent to local hospitals when their vehicles collided. The crash occurred Sept. 4, just after 8 a.m., at the intersection of 64th Street South and Church Avenue in the town of Saratoga.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of a northbound vehicle on 64th failed to yield at a stop sign, and collided with a vehicle headed east on Church Avenue. Both drivers – Jamie Stratton, 22, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Maxwell Brotz, 31, of Nekoosa – were injured in the collision.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the town of Grand Rapids police and fire departments, the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Saratoga First Responders, and the Life Link III helicopter.
