Nominations open for local business campaign

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Heart of Wisconsin Community Incubator 2021 Community Leadership class is seeking nominations for their “Best of” contest, a campaign designed is to build positivity in the Heart of Wisconsin Area business community.
“With last year being the toughest stretch our business community has been through in a while, we wanted to engage the community and have them be a part of something special. Voting for local favorite businesses that align with each ‘Best of’ category is a fun, inspiring way to give back and recognize some great accomplishments from a year with a significant amount of adversity,” Kari Schwingle, engagement director of the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce stated.
The Best of program is being developed by Schwingle; Elizabeth Herwald, of Renaissance; Tanya Saxton, of Lakeland University; and Melinda McNett, of Northwestern Mutual.
Each month, Community Leadership participants are given a closer look at the opportunities and challenges in the community through a variety of leaders in various sectors, including education, community services, government systems, and economic development. Each class takes on one or two projects that they find beneficial to the community.
Through the Best of project, community members have an opportunity to nominate and ultimately vote for businesses in various categories.
