Mid-State Holds 80’s Themed Golf Outing and Fundraiser for Event’s 30th Anniversary

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — For many, it was time to party like it was 1987 — and all for a great cause.
Mid-State Technical College held its annual foundation golf outing at the Bull’s Eye Country Club on Monday, and to celebrate 30 years, themed the event after the year 1987. The fundraising event featured an 18-hole scramble, skins games, a picnic lunch and steak dinner, raffles, bingo, and more.
“We are here because of our students and because of our community,” said Mid-State President Dr. Shelly Mondeik. “It’s really a time to come together and try to raise dollars for our student scholarships.”
72 golfers were on hand representing nearly two dozen sponsors for the event. Many volunteers from Mid-State’s Cosmetology program were also on hand to help out. On a weekend of inclement weather, conditions for the outing would be near perfect.
For 30 years now, Mid-State has held this event with many of the same sponsors, and according to Mondeik, it shows a commitment to the community, above all.
“It really shows the commitment that out community has given to Mid-State,” said Mondeik. “We really want to be a good partner for the community and we are here to serve our eight counties — so I think having a turnout like this today really shows the commitment that people give to Mid-State, and we at Mid-State want to give that back to our communities.”
Bull’s Eye Country Club is located at 2800 Ridgewood Trail. For more information on Mid-State’s fundraising events, please call 715-422-5322.
