A Wisconsin Rapids woman is being charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after reportedly forcing herself into another’s home in an attempt to see her child.

According to court documents, Nicole Contreras, 27, arrived at a Wisconsin Rapids home on the 100 block of 5th St. at about 10:14 PM on April 26. Contreras arrived in a vehicle with her mother and two other female relatives.

After approaching the home, Contreras knocked on the door and demanded to see her daughter who was living in the home. The female resident who answered the door refused to let Contreras see her daughter, claiming the baby was asleep and that she was not wanted on the property.

The criminal complaint said that Contreras then pushed open the door, pushed the resident’s sister aside and began going upstairs to her daughter’s bedroom. The sister grabbed Contreras and they fell down the stairs.

Contreras continued yelling profanities, calling the other women names and demanding to see her “[expletive] kid” until police arrived.

The police report states that Contreras admitted being in the house and trying to see her daughter.

Contreras faces charges of criminal trespassing, a class A misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 9 months in jail, a $10,000 fine or both. For the charge of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor, she faces up to 90 days in jail, a $1000 fine or both.

She pleaded not guilty to all charges on July 20 at her initial appearance in Branch 3 of the Wood County Circuit Court.

Contreras returns to court on August 21 for a pre-trial conference.
