The Mid-State Technical College Foundation has announced it is currently accepting applications from new program students for Spring Semester scholarships.
Spring semester begins January 11, and students who are attending Mid-State for the first time can use these scholarships as a way of saving money on their educational investment in their future. Approximately 80 percent of all Mid-State students receive some form of financial assistance toward their education.
Current Mid-State student Samuel Buehler said it is relatively easy to apply for Mid-State Foundation scholarships and his short investment of time led to over $7,500 in scholarships.
“Every future Mid-State student should apply for Mid-State Foundation scholarships,” said Buehler. “What do you have to lose?”
If you have been thinking about going to college and these scholarships could make a difference, there still is time to register for Mid-State Spring Semester classes. The college’s website www.mstc.edu offers an online application for admission and the information you need to know about Mid-State.
The deadline to apply for a Spring Semester scholarship is 4 p.m. on December 4.
MSTC is also holding several events to assist people with things like completing the college application, applying for financial aid, and registering for classes including Destination Registration on the week of November 9 and One Stop to College during the weeks of January 4 and 11.
“We are thrilled to share the incredible generosity of so many Mid-State Foundation donors with our students through these scholarships,” said Mid-State Foundation Director Jill Steckbauer. “Each student scholarship is an investment in our future.”
The application is available online at www.mstc.edu/scholarships or by contacting the Mid-State Foundation Office at 715-422-5322. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered and applicants must be a new student enrolled in nine or more credits to qualify for these scholarships. Students who will be attending any of Mid-State’s four locations in Adams, Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids are eligible to apply.
The Mid-State Technical College Foundation was established in 1979 and is a non-profit organization which supports the students and educational programs of Mid-State.
