For the City Times

Mid-State Technical College is hosting a STEM Discovery Seminar Series.

Each seminar is focused on a different element of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  Industry experts from Mid-State Technical College will lead two hours of scientific inquiry into innovative ideas and practices.  This engaging series is targeted at those with an interest in STEM as well as anyone who considers themselves a curious person.

The first session will focus on technology.  On Tuesday, Jan. 19, attendees will learn about unmanned aerial vehicles, how they differ from drones and how they can be used in a multitude of technological applications.  The seminar will also investigate the capabilities of GoPro cameras and the unlimited opportunities they hold for users.

During the February 23 engineering-themed seminar, participants will be treated to seminars on practical application of STEM in careers.  The series wraps up with a science-themed session on March 15 when a number of experts will discuss sleep apnea.

All seminars are free to attend and open to the public.  Each one will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will take place in the Community Engagement Room at Mid-State’s Marshfield Campus.  For more information about the STEM Discovery Seminar Series, contact Megan Kundinger at 715-389-7027.

Individuals who are interested in learning more about the programs and state-of-the-art technology available at Mid-State Technical College are encouraged to visit www.mstc.edu or call 888-575-6782.
