Buried fire hydrant in Wisconsin Rapids (Contributed Photo)

The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department are asking residents to shovel around fire hydrants buried in snow from the recent snowfall.

Doing this will help firefighters provide water at the scene of a fire much quicker if needed without having to dig around it, and may even save a life or reduce fire damage. The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department wishes to pass this message along to all residents and encourages others to pass the message along, as well.
