Empty Bowls Returns to Wisconsin Rapids

Empty Bowls is an annual charity event that will include sponsors from local business around Wisconsin Rapids.
Empty Bowls began as a grassroots movement in 1990, in Michigan, and has grown in size every year. 2013 marked the first time the event was hosted in South Wood County, and it will be coming back at First English Lutheran Church on Saturday, Mar. 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
For a $10 donation, guests receive a bowl of soup, bread, beverage, desert, and a unique ceramic bowl to take home. All proceeds benefit local agencies working to end hunger in South Wood County.
The list of businesses that will be contributing to and sponsoring the event include, Great Expectations, Jennings & Co., Misty’s Menu, Sportsman’s Pub, J2 Catering, Ida’s Tavern, Perkins, Culvers, Olympic II, Chat-R-Box Cafe, Kellner International and Kathy’s Drive-In.
