Police & Sheriff Calls for Apr. 20

Cemented: A call was made from the 3000 block of 8th St. South regarding a vehicle that swerved to avoid another vehicle. Unfortunately, the end result was that the vehicle drove into fresh cement. Records indicated that the driver had a warrant out for his arrest.

Babysitting High: At 8:29 p.m. a call was made from the 1400 block of W. Grand Ave regarding a person that was believed to be on drugs and babysitting a 4 or 5-year-old child. The caller stated that the basement was flooded, ans that living conditions are very poor. Police arrived at the residence to find no activity inside, and nobody came to the door to answer.

Gas Thief: At 4:35 a.m. a call was made from the 1100 block of 19th Ave. South regarding a man allegedly stealing gas from other vehicles, as well as breaking into them. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

Ablaze: At 3:26 p.m. a call was made from the 800 block of 6th St. South regarding a man who said his garage was set on fire. The caller said he put out the fire himself, but believes that the fire was started intentionally.
