The Rafters are pleased to announce two additions to their pitching staff, as they have secured commitments from pitchers that toss from both sides of the rubber. Left-handed pitcher Kyle Ostrowski (Pacific) and right-handed pitcher Logan Frati (Fairleigh Dickinson) have each signed contracts for the 2016 season.

“We are excited to add both of these arms to our staff,” said Rafters general manager John Fanta. “Kyle was highly recruited out of high school and a draft pick of the Seattle Mariners before choosing to forego that offer to attend college and Logan is an experienced player who has had a great spring.”

After graduating from Lincoln-Way North High School last year, the talented southpaw was selected in the 34th round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Ostrowski, a native of Illinois, instead opted to attend college and spurned the Mariners to attend the University of the Pacific, where he is now redshirting. As a prep athlete, Kyle earned the designation of being selected to the All-Southwest Suburban Conference team in the process of leading Lincoln-Way North to the program’s sixth straight regional championship. An elite talent that demonstrates outstanding command while flashing velocity into the 90s, Ostrowski dominated high school hitters throughout his prep career, highlighted by his throwing a remarkable 15-strikeout no-hitter during his senior season.

Joining Ostrowski in Wisconsin Rapids will be a seasoned veteran right-hander in the form of Logan Frati, a redshirt junior from Fairleigh Dickinson. Frati, a New York native, is in the midst of a breakout season in his first campaign as a full-time starter. To this point in the season, Frati’s stat line has represented a substantial jump from previous years as he has already registered career-highs in wins (6), strikeouts (69), and complete games (4). The redshirt junior has thrown three shutouts and limited opposing hitters to just 17 earned runs in 63.2 innings on the rubber, helping him establish a 2.40 ERA. Frati, already an established figure in the Fairleigh Dickinson program, has become known for his versatility and ability to eat innings as a workhorse, which was on display a year ago when he led the pitching staff with 85.1 innings of work. Logan hails from Manorville, New York.

The home opener for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters is June 1st at 7:05 against the Green Bay Bullfrogs. Solarus Founders Club, bleacher 9-Game ticket packages, and group outing packages are on sale now. Call 715-424-5400 or stop by the Rafters Front Office Monday-Friday from 9-5 to purchase a ticket package or book a group outing.
