Port Edwards Becomes First Monarch Village in the Country
By Joe Bachman
PORT EDWARDS – The Village of Port Edwards has been designated as an official “Monarch Village” — the first village to do so in the country.
“I am thrilled that the first of our two signs are up announcing to everyone that Port Edwards is a Monarch Village,” said Kathy McGrath. “We are actually the first village in the United States to get this designation.”
A monarch city or village protects and enhances the lives of monarchs in the area. There is a monarch city located in Cole Camp, Mo.
“Thanks to so many people in the community that have been supportive of this dream of mine.”
