WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Summers can be fleeting in Wisconsin, which is why enjoying some of the best cuisine the area has to offer outside can be such a treat.
Lunch by the River comes back on Thursday, June 8, and with it a blend of entertainment, local area vendors, and community events. This Thursday’s season opener is sponsored by the South Wood County Humane Society in the cusp of their Iron Chef event, in which the secret ingredient for that night’s competition will be revealed.
“Lunch by the River is your opportunity to make your way to Veterans Memorial Park to enjoy entertainment and food along the Wisconsin river,” said Heart of Wisconsin Director of Communications Kerry Krambeer. “Every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. enjoy a taste of Wisconsin Rapids.”
Each week is sponsored by a different business, and barring inclement weather, lunches will be held every week until August 31. This week will feature eight different vendors, including Jamaican Kitchens, Great Expectations, and Rocky Rococo’s. Entertainment will be provided by the Wisconsin Rapids School of Performing Arts.
“It’s sure to be a favorite summertime event.”
