WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College recently awarded a $1,500 scholarship to one lucky participant in its Program Showcase career exploration event on Oct 24. Lincoln High School student Braeden Gray was selected by random drawing to receive the scholarship after attending the event that drew over 500 high school seniors from area schools.
The scholarship may be applied to tuition at Mid-State up to one year after the student’s high school graduation year.
“I’m very excited about winning this scholarship,” said Gray. “I really enjoyed learning about Mid-State’s IT programs during Program Showcase, and I hope to pursue a career in IT someday.”
Program Showcase is a popular annual event that invites area seniors to experience hands-on demonstrations of many of Mid-State’s over 50 programs as well as learn about dual credit opportunities and applying for scholarships. Students from Adams-Friendship High School, Marshfield High School, Granton High School, Auburndale High School and Lincoln High School attended this year and were entered into the scholarship drawing.
