WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A pair of Riverkings leaders have committed to Robert Morris University-Illinois for next year.

Adam Peterson was the leading scorer for the Riverkings and will join linemate Austyn Quarters as part of the Eagles incoming freshman class.

“The coaching staff identified Adam as a player we needed too have,” said Robert Morris Director of Hockey Operations, Mason Riley. “Adam is well-rounded and the most complete player we scouted all year. He brings a physical presence to every shift and is a legitamate scoring threat.”

The Chicago native scored 26 goals in 2017-18 and his 53 points were second only to Quarters. The future Eagles comprised two-thirds of one of the USPHL’s most dynamic scoring lines and also served as captains for the Riverkings.

“I’m excited to attend Robert Morris University for both the academic and athletic programs they offer,” noted Peterson. “The fact that my linemate is playing there is a huge plus. I would like to thank Wisconsin Head Coach Marty Quarters and all of my coaches for helping me get to this level.”

Quarters, a speedy and gritty right-handed center, has amassed 56 points 41 games for the Riverkings. A team captain, it is expected that Quarters will quickly establish himself as an essential contributor on the Eagles’ special teams. The Bozeman, Mont. native plays for his father the highly respected Marty Quarters- whose teams are known to combine talent with a relentless approach to the game; a philosophy that has been the hallmark of RMU Eagles hockey.

” I loved the fact that the school is in the heart of such a big city, but still has the college atmosphere at the same time,” said Quarters. ” I chose to attend Robert Morris University because the organization and dedication to the team seems incredible, and I’m driven to continue my growth throughout my four years.”

” Recruiting Austyn was a real priority for the program,” said Director of Hockey Operations, Mason Riley. “The staff felt he was a perfect fit in terms of character, competitivness  and talent. With our large number of senior graduates, we are looking for student-athletes who are ready to play, and who can help us remain a top-10 program. We want freshman who aspire to reach their potential and who want to be champions. Austyn exceeds everything we look for on our wish list.”
