Three arrested on felony drug charges

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On May 8, charges were filed in Wood County Circuit Court for a May 1 incident when the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, along with other law enforcement, executed a search warrant at a Saratoga Street residence. Upon entry, officers located Jonathan F. Bubla, 26, of Plover; Christopher L. Freiseis, 36, of Rapids; and Jessica A. Newby, 27, Rapids.

According to the criminal complaint, officers found a scale with 3.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine on the living room table, as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia, THC, mushrooms, prescription medications, and controlled substances.

In addition, officers  located a .45 caliber pistol, a handgun, and two ammunition magazines in the residence.

Freiseis was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine near a school, possession with intent to deliver heroin near a school, maintaining a drug trafficking place near a school, and possession of THC – second offense, as well as three felony counts of bail jumping, a felony count of possession of a controlled substance – second offense, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bubla received felony charges of possession of meth – repeater and possession of a firearm by a felon – repeater.

Newby was charged with two counts of felony bail jumping and two misdemeanor charges of bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia.
