May 21

Digging for worms

At 9:44 p.m., a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported seeing 4 people with flashlights in her yard. When they saw the woman in the window they left in a sliver SUV. When police located the subjects they stated they were out collecting night crawlers.

May 22

Out of state checking

A 41-year-old North Carolina man contacted the police department regarding a checkbook he had lost in Illinois while traveling. Checks from his missing checkbook are being cashed at a Wisconsin Rapids credit union location. The man’s local police department cannot do anything further at this time.

May 24

Woman slaps baby

At 5:05 p.m., a 21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids resident contacted police regarding an incident of a 25-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman hitting a 5-month-old baby. The babies face was red from the slap. Another call was made later regarding hearing the baby crying and the reporter said it sounded like the baby was dropped. After an investigation it was determined the noise was from moving the crib into the living room from a bedroom. Human Services was involved.

Singing the blues

At 9:42 p.m., a pizza company employee reported seeing a man singing and talking to himself, walking along the buildings near 2800 8th Street South.  The police located the suspect, a 44-yaer-old Wisconsin Rapids man, and transported him to the jail.

May 25

Missing vehicle at hospital parking lot

At 3:52 a.m., a 29-year-old Stevens Point man contacted police regarding a person that was just released from the Emergency Room and was unable to locate their car. The car had been parked there for four hours with the keys inside.

Missing package

At 1:04 p.m., a 20-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported a package that was dropped off at his residence on 23rd Avenue South had been stolen between 11:11-11:38 a.m. The package had been delivered by Fed Ex.

May 27

Break lines cut

At 2:44 p.m., a 55-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported that a 30-year-old man cut the break lines on his truck on May 26. He also disclosed that the 30-year-old was telling people he did it and that he is going to slash the tires on the truck as well.
