Wisconsin VFW names Senator Testin “Legislator of the Year”

Green Bay – John ‘Trapper” Schultz, immediate past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Wisconsin, presented Senator Patrick Testin with the organization’s “Legislator of the Year” award at the state convention in Green Bay.
“From day one, Senator Testin has been an advocate for veterans,” said Schultz. “He has gotten results by authoring legislation that helps veterans transition into agriculture, creates the Green Alert system for missing at-risk veterans, and enhances benefits for members of the National Guard and their families. The veteran community has a friend in Patrick Testin.”
Senator Testin, who chairs the Senate Committee on Workforce Development, Military Affairs, and Senior Issues, was honored by the recognition.
“I have a great deal of respect for our veterans and for organizations like the VFW that provide a community for those who served,” said Testin. “As a legislator, I want to give veterans and their families the tools they need – the tools they’ve earned – to live successful lives during and after their time of service.”
