Boys & Girls Club kick off holiday campaign with #GivingTuesday
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area has joined #GivingTuesday, a “global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.”
On Nov. 27, #GivingTuesday – an annual event held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday – will kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
The Boys & Girls Club has chosen to celebrate #GivingTuesday to highlight the generosity of Wisconsin Rapids. Non-profit organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club, rely heavily on the support and philanthropy of the members of our community. The Boys & Girls Club is able to serve over 1,600 youth each year because of this.
“The Wisconsin Rapids community has shown our Club incredible generosity over the past 24 years,” Kent Anderson, executive director, expressed. “#GivingTuesday is a way to rally all of our supporters together to make the greatest impact possible for the youth in our community.”
#GivingTuesday will be recognized as the kick off to the Boys & Girls Club’s holiday campaign and final stretch to reach the year-end goal of $50,000.
