WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School sixth grade students recently participated in a speaking contest.  This year the students wrote speeches on the topic “What Makes America Great”.

Twelve students presented their speeches in front of their peers and three judges. Lola Feit won first place, Emma Thomas won second place, and Azailia Skogland took third.

The three judges were Troy Biers, Wisconsin Rapids School Board; Gloria Kubisiak, League of Women Voters; and Sally Kissner, South Wood County Arts Council.
