Local veterans receive Quilts of Valor

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The American Heroes Cafe of Central Wisconsin reopened on July 15, with a Quilts of Valor presentation at the Wisconsin Rapids VFW Post No. 2534 in Wisconsin Rapids.

Those receiving quilts included: Lee April, Fred Camacho, William Coley, Hank Herman, Douglas Kopelke, Holly Kosharek, Cory Leigh, Frank Maly, Burr  Oxley, Larry Sheppard, Jerome Strack, and Joseph Zurfluh.

The quilts were created by the Material Girls Quilting Club of Wisconsin Rapids.

American Heroes Café events will continue once a month at the VFW, with future cafes scheduled for Aug. 19 and Sept. 16. If there is inclement weather, the café will be held indoors at the VFW.
