CENTRAL WISCONSIN – The WIAA Board of Control has decided to move ahead with fall sports, but on a staggered basis.
The board voted 8-3 on July 23 in favor of two separate start dates for fall sports for Wisconsin High Schools.
Those activities considered low risk, like swimming, golf, and cross country, will start Aug. 17.
Others sports categorized as high risk, such as football, soccer and volleyball, will start the week of Sept. 7.
The board is also giving schools not able to participate in the fall the flexibility to move those activities to another time during the 2020-21 school year. Those details have not been worked out, and will be released at a later date.
