The United Way of Inner Wisconsin is seeking volunteers for its annual Day of Caring on October 24.

The Day of Caring is an annual event hosted by the United Way where groups of four to five volunteers rake leaves in the yards of local elderly and disabled residents. The day of caring is October 24 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers will meet at the Grand Rapids Lion Club on the corner of 36th St. S. and Cty. Rd. Y in Wisconsin Rapids.

The United Way is seeking groups of students, friends, families, businesses, church groups and individuals to volunteer to rake yards.

Volunteers are asked to provide their own transportation, rakes and gloves. Homeowners provide garbage bags. Volunteers are encouraged to rake two yards to make a bigger impact in the community.

If you need your yard raked, call 2-1-1 to register. The deadline to register is October 9.

To register a team for raking, click here.

All volunteers will receive a free lunch and t-shirt.
