James (Jim) D. Aron, 72
James “Jim” D. Aron, age 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away at his home on October 25, 2015.
Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. on Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Jim was born on October 26, 1942 in Racine, WI to Leo and Charlotte (Hilgers) Aron. He attended school in Wisconsin Rapids until his senior year where he attended and graduated from Necedah High School in 1961. On August 12, 1961 he married Sue Ayres; they later divorced.
Jim had several jobs in his life however, the one that meant the most to him was being a carpenter. Jim started his career at Frost Construction in Plainfield, WI, and later opened his own construction business in Almond, WI. Jim finished his career working as a foreman carpenter for a local union. He had a keen eye for seeing a problem and finding a creative way to solve it.
Jim loved to fish year round and enjoyed hunting in his earlier years, as well as working in his yard, garden and flower beds. He also enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. It became tradition to gather at Grandpa Jim’s to grill out and watch the Corvette Club Car Cruise each August.
Jim is survived by his children: Nanette (Chad) VerHagen, Necedah, WI, Kathy (special friend Steve Conley), Newport, OR, and James (Jodi) Aron, Whitewater, WI; his grandchildren: Cameron (Tonya), Cole and Curtis VerHagen, Jayanne and Jonathan Aron; great-granddaughter Ava VerHagen. He is further survived by a sister, Dallas (James) Duda, Iron River, MI and brothers: Gary (special friend Sue Burr) Aron, Mondovi, WI and Rick (Joan) Aron, Rogers, AR, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jody, his parents, a sister, Lillian Makela and a brother Norlan “Butch” Aron.
