UPDATE: Continued Search Efforts for Bridge Jump in Nekoosa

Police and emergency staff responded to reports of a man who jumped off the Nekoosa bridge into the Wisconsin River early this afternoon.

According to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, a call was made to Wood County dispatch at 2:25 p.m. in regards to a man who was seen jumping off the State Highway 73 bridge outside the city of Nekoosa.

Wisconsin DNR, Nekoosa Ambulance and Fire Department, Nekoosa Police Department, Port Edwards Police Department and Spirit of Marshfield all responded to the scene. The man has not been located at the time of this release and his identity is unknown.

Additional resources have been allocated for continued search efforts.
